Since my first contact with Marie Bouteillon in 2006, I have watched the development of her engagement with bilingual education and the corresponding phenomenal expansion of French dual language programs in public schools in New York City and surrounding areas. Marie Bouteillon has achieved and continues to accomplish, a truly amazing feat in broadening intercultural understanding through second language acquisition, starting at the most opportune and crucial moment in peoples' lives: their childhood.

Marie is truly one of a kind - an exemplary team member and mentor. She knows no 'work-week', often doing above and beyond what is required, in order to accomplish any task ahead of her in the most outstanding way. I am glad that the French government has recognized Marie's talent in awarding her the prestigious title of Chevalier in the Order of Academic Palms - France's highest recognition for educators. I highly recommend her and am fully confident that her new endeavor will move mountains in the realm of high-quality bilingual education. In what has now become a true French Bilingual Revolution Marie has taken the role of a precursor, visionary, and natural leader.
